Web Design Essentials
The internet has made it possible for anyone to create a presence
that can be recognized around the world. Because of the internet,
virtual social networks are broadened, and businesses are made more
successful and well-known. Creating a website, whether for personal
or business purposes, has helped millions of people become heard by
even more millions of internet users on the planet.
This is something anyone with a computer and internet access can do:
designing a website. If you take note of some helpful hints, you can
build the simplest websites to the most complex ones that web
surfers will want to visit again and again. Remember, you don’t need
to be overly experienced in internet programming to do this, but if
you’ve decided to try this out on your own, keep these tips in mind:
Conten: Plan out exactly what you want to put on your site. Are you
set on placing text articles, charts, graphics, and photographs? If
your site speaks of a specialization like your hobby, include
relevant information on that hobby, such as the history, trends,
resources, and additional links if needed. Organize you content in a
way that more important topics are set in larger fonts, with
subtopics underneath.
Clarity: Whether you want to relay a message about a particular
topic, or are selling products and services, make this clear to your
visitor. Organize the thought of your paragraphs and avoid beating
around the bush. When the homepage of your site opens, make sure
your visitor will immediately know what it is about. Use fonts,
colors, and images that can be appropriately viewed, without veering
away from the main thought of your site.
Conciseness: If your site contains a large amount of text, you can
probably reduce their lengths to avoid filling the page with too
many words. A visitor may not want to read an article if it is too
lengthy and if the message is not clearly stated. Short but
meaningful paragraphs can be used. If text is too long, be sure to
place “go back to the top” links so the visitor can easily navigate
along.
Consistency: Be sure all the pages are connected with each other.
Avoid altering the color schemes and font styles from page to page.
Whenever a person clicks on a link to go to another portion of your
website, see to it that he can click back to the homepage if he
wants to. Never leave a link that points to nowhere. It is best to
label all pages of your site with the date or year, your email
address, and the name of your company or website.
Commercialization: Although advertisements are meant to attract more
visitors, as well as generate a certain amount of income for the
webmaster, these should be used in moderation. A website that
contains an excessive amount of banners and links to sponsors will
divert the visitor’s attention from what the whole thing is about.
Proper placement and positioning of ads should be done, so that the
reader can still know where to look.
Communication: It is best to add a guestbook, forums, or feedback
portion on your website, so that visitors will have a way of
contacting you. You can also gain relevant information from comments
made by your visitors. Always leave your email address so that they
can refer to you whenever they want to know something that your site
does not cover.
